Private Dog Training

Do you feel that group training is not for you or your dog? Do you want a more individual approach and some 1-on-1 coaching?

Our Private Dog Training is for:

  • Dogs that are easily distracted, unruly in group courses or out of control in public areas.
  • Dogs that would benefit from confidence-building or have anxiety.
  • Dogs on the waiting list for courses or owners who work shifts and are unable to attend set courses.
  • Owners who want specific help with one subject such walking on a loose lead or recall.
  • Owners who need extra coaching to supplement their learning in addition to their group lessons.

We start with an assessment visit either at your home or around other dogs to observe and assess your dog and discuss any problems. The assessment takes around 90 minutes and is followed by practical lessons in the environment in which you need it, e.g., your local park or at home.

This course includes email support and homework handouts

In 1-on-1 training you benefit from individual-specific help and your dog is systematically trained in environments with natural distractions, such as parks, towns and in the countryside. We cover all aspects of obedience training and general good manners and life skills both at home and on walks.

This course of bespoke lessons is ideal for overcoming basic training problems such as excitability at home, pulling on the lead or not coming when called. Includes email support and homework handouts.

Online Learning Course

GOOD DOG – LEVEL 1 is an online course to teach your dog all the skills necessary to thrive. Whilst dogs have been bred to live with us for many, many years we can’t discount the fact they were once wild scavengers and still enjoy hobbies like bin raiding, people drag racing and legging it after squirrels!

Dogs don’t come knowing the key skills needed to be a good boy or girl and just like young children, they need to be taught to show them the way.

TESTIMONIALS

What Our Students Say

We took our Cockapoo Dougie to Life Skills Puppy training which was fantastic. As new dog owners, the training Victoria gave us was brilliant too. We had a second puppy and unfortunately moved out of the area so used a different trainer. In comparison, Victoria’s knowledge and training methods are far more superior.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Victoria and her team.

Dougie – Cockapoo

A friend recommended People & Dogs, and I reluctantly contacted them – it was very much a last resort. That was 6 months ago, and now Poppy walks beautifully on a loose lead, never, ever pulling. Her recall is now 100% consistent. Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t happen overnight, and it required effort and commitment from me, but it has been totally worth it, and worth every penny.
